Getting Started

First Steps

  • I always keep my website up to date with my current commissions and availability.

You may be placed in my queue depending on how many commissions I have already taken. I will always keep you updated via email if you are in a queue.

  • To get started, simply navigate through the commission page to the appropriate order form. Fill in all the relevant information there and send it in.

Don’t worry about your reference photos just yet - all being well, I’ll get in touch via email and ask for those in the next few days.

Reference Photos

  • Once you’ve filled in an order form, I’ll be in touch via email to request your reference photos.

You can either attach the photos to an email (or multiple emails if file size limits are an issue) and send them through, or upload them to a site such as Google Drive, DropBox, or Imgur and send me the relevant link(s) via email.

  • This varies greatly depending on the commission type. I offer rough guidelines on each of the commission pages, so please do take a moment to read through if you’re unsure.

As a general rule: The more reference photos you can send me, the happier I’ll be!

  • I’m not overly fussy about photo quality. As long as there is enough detail to make out key markings or distinctive features, I’m usually happy.

Capturing personality is also really important to me, so the more personality the better.

As a rule, the photos of your pet that you love the most will be the photos that I’ll love to get - even if they are a little blurry!

If you’re at all unsure about the quality or quantity of your photos, please feel free to fill in an order form and leave me a note in the ‘Extra Notes’ section. I’m always happy to offer free photo consultations to let you know whether or not I could work with your photos.

Payment

  • Once I have received and reviewed your reference photos and confirmed this with you, I will then send through a PayPal invoice. I do not currently accept any other payment methods.

I do not request any payment until I am ready to begin your commission, so if your situation changes after you fill in an order form, please just let me know and I can remove you from my queue without issue.

  • ‘I don’t like PayPal, can I pay another way?’

No. Even with their (many) issues, PayPal is currently still the easiest way for me to process payment.

I use PayPal invoices for all my commissions, and a PayPal account is not required in order to pay an invoice.

    Apologies for any inconvenience!

‘If you’re living in New Zealand, why are your prices/invoices in USD?

While I do currently live in NZ, very few of my clients are from here.

Since there isn’t a ‘global’ currency, I instead charge in a currency I think most people know the rough value of.

Plus, a lot of my clients are actually from the USA, so I’ve found it’s just easier all around!
